Martin Walshin, Inc. was born of an idea that Martin and Iris Walshin had. The idea was simple: a Wholesaler that services other Wholesalers.
Prior to 1960, most control manufacturers had local warehouses in the major cities. In the early 1960’s, these warehouses began to close, forcing the Wholesaler to stock inventory. At that time, many wholesalers were no more than Mom and Pop stores. The financial commitment to maintain a particular product line was too great in many cases. It was at this time that Marty and Iris saw the need for a “Wholesaler’s Wholesaler”.
The business had very humble beginnings. They first began working out of their apartment. It quickly expanded to include additional space rented in the basement of their apartment building. Martin would make deliveries in the tri-state area in the family station wagon.
The first actual warehouse space was in Yonkers, NY. It was a very small facility and was soon outgrown. In 1978, Iris and Martin purchased the building we now use at 70 Saw Mill River Road in Hastings-on-Hudson.
Today, Martin Walshin, Inc. is a master distributor of controls that does business in all 50 U.S. states, Mexico, Canada, and many other foreign countries. We now stock over 25 product lines and over 22,000 different items.
We sell strictly to the Wholesale and OEM markets, and not to retailers or end users. We ship 95% of our orders the same day they are placed, using any method our customers prefer. We also have a special rate with Airborne/DHL to save our customers time and money.
Our sales staff has over 80 years combined experience in the HVACR field. We have extensive cross-reference capabilities and product knowledge. We also have our manufacturer’s catalogs and technical information available. We’re always ready to help our customers find the controls or parts they need.
